OLD FASHIONED BUTTER CAKE 
1 c. soft butter
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 lg. eggs
3 c. sifted cake flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk

In large bowl of electric mixer cream butter, sugar, vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy. Then beat in eggs, one at a time. Add dry ingredients alternate to creamed mixture with milk. Pour batter into 2 (9 inch) cake pans, that have been greased, line bottom with waxed paper, and grease top again. Grease with butter. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Turn out on cake rack. When cold frost with Creamy White frosting. Coat all over with shredded coconut.
