APPLE PIE FILLING 
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. water
1 tbsp. lemon juice
4 c. peeled, thinly sliced apples

Combine first 4 ingredients in pan until smooth. Add apples. Heat to boiling, stirring. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Cool and refrigerate until ready to make pie. Makes 2 pints of pie filling.
