APPLESAUCE BEEF LOAF 
Combine 1 cup soft bread crumbs (1 1/2" slices) and 1/2 cup applesauce. Add 1 pound ground beef, 1 slightly beaten egg, 1/4 cup finely chopped celery, 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion, 1 teaspoon Dijon style mustard, 1/2 teaspoon salt and dash of pepper; blend thoroughly.

Shape into a round loaf in an 8"x8"x2" pan. With spoon make crater-like depression in top of loaf. Combine 1/2 cup applesauce, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons vinegar and 1/2 teaspoon mustard. Pour into depression. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serves 4 to 5.
