|CHRISTMAS ENGLISH TOFFEE|
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. water
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. chocolate bars, crumbled
1/2 c. chopped nuts (pecan or walnuts)
In a heavy saucepan, cook together the butter, sugar and water, stirring constantly until mixture reaches 300°F.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into 9 x 11 inch pan and cool for 5 minutes. Sprinkle on the crumbled chocolate bars then add nuts. When cook, break into pieces. Store in air tight containers.
