3 c. all-purpose flour
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. water
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
2 eggs

2 lg. apples, cored, peeled, and sliced thin
1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
6 tbsp. butter

First, prepare apples and set aside. Combine in a large bowl 1 1/2 cups flour, yeast, sugar, and salt; mix well. In saucepan, heat water, butter, and milk until warm (115 to 130 degrees). Butter does not need to melt. Add flour mixture. Add eggs. Blend at low speed until moistened. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed. By hand, gradually stir in remaining flour to make stiff batter. Spread in 2 greased 8 x 8 inch pans. Arrange apple slices evenly over batter.

Prepare Topping: Combine all ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. With back of teaspoon, make random indentations in dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place (about 80 degrees) until light and doubled in size, about 45 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until done and golden brown.
