ORANGE CAKE (Portuguese) 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
Juice & grated rind of orange
6 eggs
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
3 c. flour

Beat egg white until stiff. Mix sugar with butter. Add yolks beat until creamy. Mix orange rind and juice, add flour and baking powder. Add egg whites, beat until smooth.

Butter and flour a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan, pour batter and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Mix juice of 1 orange with 1/2 cup sugar, pour over cake as soon as you remove cake from the oven. Cool and cut cake in 2 inch squares.
