SOFT GINGERSNAP COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves

Roll dough in teaspoon size balls. Then roll in white sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
