SPUD BURGER 
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. shredded potatoes
1/4 c. finely chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
5 slices American or Cheddar cheese
5 hamburger rolls, sliced
5 red onion slices

Combine meat, potatoes, onions, salt and pepper; mix well and shape into 5 patties. Broil 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or to desired doneness.

Top each patty with a cheese slice; broil just enough to melt cheese slightly. On bottom half of roll, layer onion slice, patty and top half of bun. Makes 5 servings.
