BANANA DATE NUT BREAD 
1 3/4 c. flour
2 3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. dates, chopped
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. mashed ripe bananas (2 to 3 bananas)

Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Cream shortening; add sugar. Beat until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour mixture alternately with bananas. Add dates and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until done. Use 2 small bread pans (size 7 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches).
