SAMBUCA 
2 1/2 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. water
3 tsp. anise extract
3 1/2 c. vodka

Stir sugar, water together until almost dissolved. Boil or simmer 5-8 minutes without stirring. Let cool. Add vodka and flavoring. Pour into glass bottle and enjoy. If "well" water is used, let stand overnight to let deposits settle.
