CHRISTMAS BALLS 
1 1/2 stick butter
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
1 c. finely chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. carton crystallized cherries

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add flour, salt, nuts, vanilla. Blend well. Take 1 teaspoon of dough and form around cherry; roll into ball. Bake balls at 325 degrees for 20 minutes or until very light brown. When slightly cooled, roll in powdered sugar.
