TENNESSEE BISCUITS 
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Dash of salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 tbsp. melted butter

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly. Add buttermilk. Make soft dough. Place on floured surface. Knead slightly. Roll out to 6 x 6 inch square. Place on baking sheet, ungreased. Cut into 12 even portions but don't separate. Bake at 400 degrees about 12 to 15 minutes. Brush with melted butter.
