1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
2 tbsp. corn syrup
2 c. nuts, chopped fine
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Dissolve soda in milk in pan. Add sugar, butter and corn syrup. Stir to boiling and when boiling, stop stirring.
Cook to 244 degrees F. on candy thermometer. Remove, add nuts and vanilla. Drop immediately onto foil or pour into buttered 8x8 inch pan.
