CANTONESE CASSEROLE
 

1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen French style green beans
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. milk
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 c. dairy sour cream
2 c. cubed, cooked ham
1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained & thinly sliced
1 c. buttered soft bread crumbs
Paprika

Pour boiling water over beans to separate; drain well. In saucepan melt butter; blend in flour. Stir in milk and soy sauce; cook and stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly. Stir in sour cream, cubed ham, the green beans and water chestnuts.

Pour into greased 10" x 6" x 1 1/2" baking dish. Sprinkle buttered bread crumbs over the top. Dash generously with paprika. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until just heated through. Serve with Chinese hot mustard on the side.
