1 sm. Carnation evaporated milk 1 2/3 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. miniature marshmallows or 16 med, diced 1 1/2 c. semi sweet chocolate chips 1 tsp. vanilla Mix evaporated milk, sugar and salt in saucepan over medium heat. Bring to boil; cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly. (Time when mixture starts to "bubble" around edges of pan.) Remove from heat. Add marshmallows, chocolate chips, vanilla. Stir vigorously for 1 minute (or until marshmallows melt). Pour into 8" square buttered pan. Optional: garnish with nuts. Cool, cut in squares. Makes about 2 pounds. |
