1 egg 1/2 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. sour or buttermilk 1/4 c. cocoa 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. and 1/2 c. hot water mixed 1/4 tsp. salt
Add ingredients all together. Beat well. Put in paper fluted cups. Bake 350 degrees 15 minutes or until done. Yield 24. Ice with favorite icing.
