1 stick butter 1/2 c. shortening 2 c. sugar 5 egg yolks, beaten 5 egg whites, beaten 2 c. flour 1 tsp. soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. buttermilk 5 oz. coconut Cream butter, shortening, sugar and egg yolks. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Add coconut and fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. FROSTING: 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened 1/2 stick butter, softened 1 lb. sifted powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla |
