POUND CAKE LOAF
 

1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Add milk and beat 5 minutes at medium speed with an electric mixer. Stir in flavorings. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes or until a wooden stick comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove and cool on wire rack. Makes 1 loaf.
