1 stick butter, room temperature 1/2 c. sugar 4 eggs 1 tbsp. flavoring (use more if desired) 1/2 bottle red food coloring Add flavoring and red food coloring in a cup, then fill to 1 cup with milk. Mix ingredients and beat well; then add 1 box of cake mix. Beat for 4 minutes. Yields 3 big layers. Ice cake with Sour Cream Icing, if desired, or use icing of your choice. RED VELVET ICING: 1 stick butter, room temperature 1 lg. size pkg. cream cheese, room temperature Beat well. Add 1 box sifted confectioners' sugar and 1 cup or more chopped nuts. |
