WORLD WAR I CAKE

This is a World War I butterless, sugarless, eggless, milkless cake. I have baked many times with the prices now the way they are going up, what better time to try it. It may become your favorite too.

Into 1 cup molasses, stir 2 cups of flour. Put 2 tablespoons butter into a cup and fill with boiling water. Add 1 teaspoon soda. Stir all together and bake in a 375 degree oven. (8 x 8 inch pan, greased & floured). It is a good dessert served hot with whipped cream. Serves 6.
