1/2 cup flour, sifted 1 1/2 cups white cornmeal 2 teaspoons baking powder 3/4 cup milk 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 small onion, chopped fine 1 egg, beaten
Combine all ingredients. Drop into hot oil, 1 teaspoon at a time, until golden brown. Serve while hot with fish.
