1 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. corn meal 2 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. cream style corn 1/2 c. chopped onions 1 egg, beaten 2 tbsp. vegetable oil Combine first 4 ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add corn, onions, egg and oil; stir well. Carefully drop batter by level spoonfuls into deep hot oil 370 degrees. Cook only a few at a time, turning once. Fry 3-5 minutes until hush puppies are golden brown. Drain well on paper towels. |
