2 lb. young sliced okra 8 slices bacon 5 sm. ripe slicing tomatoes Fry bacon until crisp, remove to a paper towel. Leave about 1/4 to 1/2 inch bacon drippings in skillet and heat. Add okra, stir often and fry until slightly browned. Peel and chop tomatoes; add to okra along with salt and pepper, then crumbled bacon. Cover and cook about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally. Serves 8. |
