1/2 c. rice 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 eggs 1 lb. cherries or peaches 2 c. milk Cook rice in milk until almost done. Put in refrigerator to cool. Mix butter, sugar and egg yolk. Add to rice mixture. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into rice mixture. Layer sliced fruit, then rice alternately in ovenproof dish. Bake 50 minutes at 350 degrees or until brown. |
