7 (1 lb.) cans pork and beans (or equivalent in lg. cans) 1 c. chopped onion 3/4 c. chopped bell pepper 2 1/2 c. ketchup 3/4 c. Worcestershire sauce 3/4 c. brown sugar 3/4 c. honey 1 lb. bacon, diced and partially cooked Mix all ingredients well and pour into disposable aluminum roasting pan. Put into a covered barbecue cooker with temperature maintained at about 275 degrees. Cook beans uncovered for 3-4 hours or until liquid is cooked down. Serves 20-25. You can also cook in crock pot. |
