BUTTERMILK WAFFLES
 

1/4 c. butter
2 c. unsifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. buttermilk
3 lg. eggs

Heat waffle iron. Melt butter and set aside to cool. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda in a bowl; set aside. In another bowl mix eggs, milk and butter together. Stir it into the flour mixture just until moistened. Pour 2/3 of batter into a heated waffle iron, cook until browned. Serve with butter, honey, maple syrup, or strawberries in their syrup.
