1/2 c. warm water 1 pkg. dry yeast 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter 2 c. milk 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. sugar 2 c. all purpose flour 2 eggs 1/4 tsp. baking soda Put warm water into a large bowl and stir in yeast. Let stand 5 minutes. Melt butter in milk over medium heat to lukewarm. Add milk, butter, salt and sugar to yeast. Stir in flour. Beat until smooth. Cover, let stand overnight at room temperature. Just before baking add 2 eggs and baking soda and beat well. The batter will be very thin. Bake in hot waffle iron. |
