COD FISH CAKES
 

2 pieces dried cod fish, soak overnight in cold water
1 green pepper, washed & chopped
1 onion, peeled & chopped
About 1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 egg, well beaten
2 tbsp. flour (opt.)
1/2 c. oil for frying

NO SALT PLEASE!

Change water 1 or 2 times. Pound fish with mallet or pound on side of table. This loosens fish meat and softens it.

Flake fish well. Add next 3 ingredients; mix very well. Stir in flour if using and beat in egg. Shape into ovals about 1/4 cup mixture. Have oil hot. Flatten fish cake in pan. Fry until golden brown, turning once.
