Chocolate or German chocolate cake (can use a Jiffy cake mix or 1 layer of a
two layer mix)
Instant chocolate pudding, made as directed on pkg.
1 can cherry pie filling
Cool Whip

Cut chocolate cake layer into cubes. Layer in dish in several layers the cake cubes, chocolate pudding, cherry pie filling, and whip cream in that order. Refrigerate at least 4 hours. Is very pretty in a glass bowl.
