1 box Betty Crocker German chocolate cake mix 1 oz. bottle red food coloring Mix and bake as directed adding food coloring. Use 2 round cake pans. Let cool, then cut cake into 4 round ones. (Split layers into 2 pieces.) Brush crumbs away and frost. QUICK RED VELVET CAKE FROSTING: Mix together: 1 c. milk Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Let cool completely. Cream: 1 stick butter 1/2 c. Crisco 1 tsp. vanilla Cream until fluffy. Add to mixture and beat until smooth, about 10 minutes. Spread on cake. |
