1/3 c. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 2 c. fine bread crumbs 1 1/4 c. scalded milk 3 eggs 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cloves, nutmeg, & cinnamon 1/2 c. chopped figs 1/2 c. raisins Cream shortening and sugar. Add bread crumbs and scalded milk. Mix well and cool. Add beaten eggs. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and spices together and add with figs and raisins. Add the flour mixture into the first mixture and stir well. Fill a greased pudding mold 3/4 full and steam three hours. Serve with whipped cream. |
