STAR DESSERT - CHRISTMAS PLUM PUDDING
 

1 envelope Knox gelatin
1/2 c. cold water
1 c. milk
1/2 c. seeded raisins
1/4 c. currants
2/3 c. dates
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 sq. chocolate or 3 tbsp. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. vanilla
2 egg whites

Soak and cook milk, gelatin, 1/2 of sugar, salt, fruit and chocolate until thickened. Cook. Add vanilla. Beat egg whites and sugar until stiff. Add to rest of mixture and nuts.

Pour into star shaped mold (5 cups). Chill well and serve with whipped cream.
