ENGLISH MUFFIN LOAF
 

2 pkgs. dry yeast
6 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
Cornmeal
2 c. milk + 1/2 c. water

Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda. Heat liquids (milk and water) until warm. Add to dry mixture and beat well. Mix in rest of flour to make stiff and sticky dough. Divide evenly into 2 loaf pans, 8 1/2" x 4 1/2", greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Cover and let rise in warm place for 45 minutes. Cover with clean cloth or dish towel. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from pans immediately and cool. Toast and enjoy like English muffins.
