2 c. boiling water 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. shortening 2 pkg. dry yeast 1/4 c. warm water 2 eggs 7 to 8 c. flour Mix boiling water, sugar, salt, shortening and cool to lukewarm. soften yeast in warm water and stir into mixture. Add beaten eggs and stir in 4 cups flour, beat thoroughly. Then stir in 3 or 4 more cups flour. DO NOT KNEAD. Cover and put in refrigerator to keep on hand. Shape into rolls and put into pans and let rise until double in bulk (about 3 hours), then bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. |
