3/4 c. chopped onion (more if desired) 1 1/2 c. chopped celery (with tops) 1 c. butter 8 c. corn bread, crumbled 2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. dried sage leaves (or more to taste) 1 tsp. dried thyme leaves 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 lb. pork sausage, crumbled & browned Cook and stir onion and celery in butter until onion is tender. Stir in about 1/3 of the corn bread. Turn into deep bowl. Add remaining ingredients. Stuff turkey just before roasting. Enough for a 12 pound turkey. May substitute sausage drippings for part of butter. |
