Wash potatoes; place in boiling water and cook only until done (do not overcook). Cool. Slice THINLY. In a large serving dish, place one layer of potatoes over entire bottom; spread mayonnaise over top; sprinkle with garlic and onion salt. Sprinkle with chopped celery.
Repeat with another layer, until potatoes are all used. Dribble a little cream over top. Refrigerate, preferably overnight.
