3/4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. flour 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. salt Mix with 5 cups sliced apples. Use 8x12 inch Pyrex dish. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup water. Dot with 1 tablespoon butter. Cover with foil. Bake 15 minutes. 1 c. flour 1 tbsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder Pinch of salt 3 tbsp. shortening 1/2 c. milk Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening. Stir in milk. Drop by spoonfuls on hot apples. Bake uncovered 25-35 minutes. Makes 6 servings. To make blackberry cobbler, use same recipe except substitute 4 tablespoons tapioca with berries instead of flour and 1/4 cup tapioca with milk to drop on hot berries. |
