AMISH MAPLE SYRUP PIE

8-9" pie shell, baked & cooled
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
2/3 c. Real maple syrup
Dash of salt
1 c. whipping cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. toasted pecans

Combine the sweetened condensed milk, maple syrup and salt in small saucepan. Cook slowly, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil. Cook until it thickens, 10-15 minutes. Pour into pie shell and cool. Whip cream, sweeten with a small amount of sugar if desired (I prefer not to). Add vanilla. Spread over cooled pie. Top with toasted pecans. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve small pieces as this is very rich.

Serves 8-10.
