4 c. ground onions 1 med. head cabbage 12 green peppers 6 red peppers 10 green tomatoes 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric 1/2 c. salt 6 c. sugar 1 tbsp. celery seed 4 c. vinegar 1 tbsp. mustard seed Grind vegetables; sprinkle 1/2 cup salt. Let stand overnight, then rinse in cold water; drain well. Combine sugar, vinegar, celery, and mustard seeds, turmeric, and heat to boiling point. Simmer 3 minutes. Put in jars and seal. Makes 7-8 pints. |
