2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 cloves garlic crushed
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 can tomato paste
1/2 c. cider vinegar
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
1 tsp. ground cumin seed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
In medium saucepan, heat oil, saute onion and garlic until tender. Add brown sugar and remaining ingredients.
Cook, partially covered over medium heat, for 10 minutes until sauce thickens. Stir occasionally. Brush sauce on meat during last 20 minutes of cooking. Makes 1 1/2 cup sauce.
