OLD - FASHIONED SOUR CREAM COOKIES
 

LARGE RECIPE: (8 to 10 dozen)
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. sour cream

SMALL RECIPE: (4 to 5 dozen 2 inch cookies)
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sour cream

Mix shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla. Blend dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Roll 1/4 inch thick and on "well" floured board. Cut with cookie cutters. Place on greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with sugar or frost with ornamental cookie frosting.
