ROAST BEEF AND BRAISED ONION

4 onion rolls (4 inch diameter)
3/4 lb. thinly sliced roast beef or turkey
1/4 lb. thinly sliced muenster or gouda cheese
Onion relish

ONION RELISH:

2 tbsp. water
2 tsp. salad oil
2 tsp. red wine vinegar
2 tsp. horseradish
1 lg. onion, thinly sliced

In a 10 to 12 inch frying pan over medium high heat, combine onion relish ingredients. Stir often until onion is golden and liquid has evaporated, about 15 minutes.

Split rolls in half horizontally. Lay bottom halves, cut side up, on a 12x15 baking sheet. On each bottom, lay 1/4 of the meat, 1/4 of the relish and 1/4 of the cheese. Bake in a 500 degree oven until cheese begins to melt, about 3 minutes.

Place roll tops next to bottoms. Continue baking until cheese is bubbly. Place tops over cheese.
