BAKED LAMB SHANKS
 

4-6 lamb shanks
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt or omit salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1/4 stick butter, softened
1 tbsp. dill weed
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. water
Foil

Bake in 375 degree oven for 1 hour.. Put lamb shanks in oven in shallow roaster. Place seasoned meat in 1/2 cup water in pan. Season meat with garlic, pepper and salt (optional). Roast 1/2 hour. Remove from oven; set aside.

Mix lemon juice, dill weed and butter. Spread over meat. Cover with foil to form a tent. Baste meat as needed. Finish roasting. Meat should be fork tender and buttery dill flavor.
