1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, undrained 1 c. barbecue sauce 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed 1/4 c. sherry 1/2 tsp. ground ginger 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 tsp. liquid smoke (optional) 1 lg. onion, sliced 4 lbs. spare ribs 1 garlic clove, pressed Combine first 7 ingredients, simmer 10 minutes. Arrange onion in baking pan. Place ribs on top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Rub with garlic. Add 1/2 cup water to pan. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cover ribs with sauce. Bake uncovered 1 hour longer. Serves 4. |
