CHOP SUEY
 

1/2 lb. beef and 1/2 lb. pork, cut up in small cubes
2 onions
5 to 6 stalks celery
Salt and pepper
2 tbsp. chop suey molasses (LaChoy brown gravy sauce)
1 sm. can mushroom buttons and stems
cornstarch and water paste
Soy sauce
Cooked rice

Brown meat in dutch oven with one onion, chopped. Add chopped celery, salt and pepper. Add enough water to cover meat and simmer one hour. Add second onion, chopped, molasses and mushrooms and simmer one more hour. Thicken with cornstarch paste and serve over rice. Sprinkle liberally with soy sauce. You may add other Chinese vegetables such as bean sprouts if you desire.
