FIVE BEAN-BACON BAKE
 

1 pkg. bacon
1 lg. onion, thinly sliced
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. garlic powder (optional)
1 (16 oz.) can butter beans
1 (16 oz.) can green beans
1 (16 oz.) can green lima beans
1 (16 oz.) can dark red kidney beans
1 (16 oz.) can baked beans

Fry bacon until done, not crisp, drain and set aside. Leave 2 tablespoons bacon drippings in skillet. Reduce heat and add onions, brown sugar, vinegar and garlic powder. Stir well. Cover and cook 2 minutes or until onions are slightly soft. Drain and combine butter beans, green beans, lima beans and kidney beans.

Mix undrained baked beans with rest of beans. Combine bean mixture, onion mixture and half of bacon slices, crumbled, in a 3-quart casserole. Top with remaining bacon slices. Bake uncovered in 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
