1 box frozen, chopped spinach, thawed & squeezed to remove excess water 3 med. onions, finely chopped 3 eggs 1 c. butter or 1/2 c. butter & 1/2 c. butter 1 2/3 c. milk 1 pkg. frozen phyllo dough Salt & pepper Saute onions in 1/4 cup butter until onions are clear. Combine spinach, onions, salt and pepper. Melt remaining butter. In bowl, stir together eggs and milk. In baking dish, spread bottom with butter, spread two sheets of dough in pan; add butter, then some of the milk mixture. Continue layering until halfway through the dough. Spread all of spinach in dish. Continue layering dough, butter and milk mixture. Pour any leftover milk on top. Bring edges of borek away from dish with a spatula. Make cuts in top. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. |
