REUBEN SANDWICHES
 

1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/4 c. chili sauce

SANDWICH:

2 c. drained sauerkraut
1/4 c. chopped sweet onion
16 slices rye bread
1/2-3/4 lb. sliced corned beef
1/4 lb. sliced Swiss cheese
Softened butter

Creamy Russian Dressing: In small bowl, combine mayonnaise and chili sauce; mix well.

Sandwiches: Spread Creamy Russian Dressing on each slice of brad. Place corned beef slice, 1/4 cup sauerkraut, a little onion, then cheese slice on each bread slice. Top with remaining bread slices. Lightly butter bread.

Place on ungreased baking sheet, buttered side down and butter the top side of the sandwich. Bake near center of oven at 450 degrees for 4-6 minutes on each side, checking often. Yield 8 sandwiches.
