1 1/2 c. raisins 1 1/2 c. chopped dates 1 1/2 c. sugar 3 tbsp. lard 1 1/2 c. boiling water 2 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped nuts 1/2 c. chopped gumdrops Line two loaf pans with foil. In a pan combine the raisins, dates, sugar, lard and boiling water. Simmer for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Pour the batter into prepared pans. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 hour or until done. |
