FRUIT CRISP WITH STREUSEL TOPPING
 

4 c. peeled, sliced, tart apples or other fruit
1 c. rolled oats (quick cooking or regular)
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter

Arrange peeled, sliced apples in baking dish. Place rolled oats, flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon in bowl and mix to blend. Add softened butter and blend well with pastry blender or fork. Spread oatmeal mixture on top of apples and press down lightly. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Make sure the rack is in the center position. Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is brown and apples are tender when tested with a fork. Serve warm or cold with milk, cream or ice cream.
